y paintings are an expression of the many experiences that I have had over the years I’ve lived in Asia since my arrival in Taiwan back in July of 1988.My years since then have been spent in Kyoto, Japan, Thailand, Korea, and throughout China. The quiet moments in Buddhist temples and gardens greatly influence my life and my work.

The solitude that an Asian temple offers a visitor has always intrigued me.It allows me to experience parts of myself that the speed of modern city life doesn’t.I try to give that same experience to the viewers of my work.I choose to paint many of my still-lives in the same settings in which I enjoyed many of the objects. They are depicted in temples or old houses.

Done in oil, my paintings are characterized by graphic compositions, beautiful objects from Japan and China, and have an Asian mystique.

They are done on linen or canvas with Old Holland or Windsor and Newton oil paints.
